A fruit that doesn't really "belong" here – and that's precisely what makes it so exciting. Pawpaw (Asimina triloba) is considered one of the few hardy fruits with a tropical profile: creamy, almost pudding-like flesh, often described as somewhere between banana and mango , sometimes with notes of vanilla/pineapple – soft, dense, and very aromatic.
Expected first (small) harvest: from autumn 2027/2028 (depending on weather & development)
Harvest interval: annually in late summer/autumn (depending on weather conditions)
We work in harmony with nature : living soil, diversity around the tree and lots of manual labor – without synthetic pesticides .
Important: Experiment, not a promise
Pawpaw trees are n't a sure thing for us. Sufficient summer warmth is crucial (otherwise the fruit won't ripen fully), as is consistent pollination. For good fruit set, pawpaw trees generally need a genetically different tree as a pollinator – and we support this with hand pollination if necessary.
Two options for your sponsorship
Option 1: Classic sponsorship (based on duration)
1 year · 3 years · 5 years (discount for longer terms)
Option 2: Replanting (sponsorship for the first 5 harvests)
We're planting a new pawpaw tree – your sponsorship will then cover the first five harvests from this tree. (The start of the first harvest depends on development/weather – and in extreme cases, it may not occur.)
Included in your sponsorship:
-
Personalized sponsorship certificate (digital)
-
Season updates with photo & short note
-
Contribution to maintenance (soil, pruning, protection, site management)
-
Optional: Tree sign with name / dedication
Variety selection: After you place your order, we will write to you personally – we will then clarify the variety via email, depending on availability.
Flowering and harvest can vary depending on the weather – nature remains nature.
And if June brings rain, it stabilizes the water supply precisely during the phase in which growth and fruit tissue are being built up – this supports calm, even development and can later help in a very concrete way: more substance, more juice, better texture.
