A tree with far-reaching impact: The jujube – also known as the Chinese date (紅棗) – is a traditional fruit in Asia, dry and fresh in character, and completely different from our classic fruit. Here, it is above all one thing: a deliberate experiment .
Expected first (small) harvest: from autumn 2028 (depending on weather and development)
Harvest interval: annually in late summer/autumn (depending on weather conditions)
We work in harmony with nature : living soil, diversity around the tree and lots of manual labor – without synthetic pesticides .
Important: Experiment, not a promise
The jujube tree is n't a given here. Winters, late frosts, cool summers, or unfavorable locations can all lead to a lack of flowering, fruit set, or harvest . Your sponsorship therefore also supports our learning process: how much protection, warmth, and timing this tree truly needs – and whether it can establish itself in our garden in the long term.
Two options for your sponsorship
Option 1: Classic sponsorship (based on duration)
1 year · 3 years · 5 years (discount for longer terms)
Option 2: Replanting (sponsorship for the first 5 harvests)
We're planting a new jujube tree – your sponsorship will then cover the first five harvests from this tree. (When the first harvest starts depends on development and weather – and in extreme cases, it may not happen at all.)
Included in your sponsorship:
-
Personalized sponsorship certificate (digital)
-
Season updates with photo & short note
-
Contribution to maintenance (pruning, soil, protection / possibly winter protection)
-
Optional: Tree sign with name / dedication
Variety selection: After you place your order, we will write to you personally – we will then clarify the variety via email, depending on availability.
Flowering and harvest can vary depending on the weather – nature remains nature.
And if June brings rain, it supports growth in the early season – this can help the tree to enter flowering and later fruit set more stably.
